Lab Services

Routine screenings can catch chronic conditions such as diabetes or high cholesterol, early when they are easier to manage. Even if you don’t feel sick, regular testing helps your primary care provider establish a baseline for your health.

Schedule Lab Work

Lab Services

Patients who require blood work can have their order sent to Jackson County Health Department for completion.

Laboratory services cannot be completed without an order from your primary care provider.

AVAILABLE TESTS (WITH PRICES)

Insurance is not accepted for lab services. Lab tests must be paid for via cash/check/debit/credit card payments.

You will also be charged a $15 collection fee, in addition to the lab tests costs.

Through the Illinois Healthy Resilient Communities grant, we are also able to offer vouchers for free preventive lab tests for those that cannot otherwise afford the cash price. To be eligible for the voucher, you must be a Jackson County Resident over the age of 18, and uninsured or underinsured. The lab tests that are covered by the vouchers include:
• Hemoglobin-A1C
• Lipid Panel
• Complete Blood Count (CBC)
• Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA)
• Thyroid Panel with TSH
• Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP)

*For this program, underinsured means I have health insurance, but my deductible, copayment, coinsurance, policy limits, or other restrictions would result in out of pocket costs that make obtaining the lab services financially difficult. No income or insurance verification is required.

Lab services cannot be completed without an order from a provider, even for voucher recipients.

Please call 618-684-3143 ext. 108 for more information on how to receive a voucher. All vouchers must be picked up in person from the Jackson County Health Department Front Building – Health Education Division during regular business hours (Monday through Friday 8 – 4 pm).

All vouchers must be redeemed prior to June 15, 2027.
