• Lead risk assessment and testing are routinely offered to Active WIC client children participating in the WIC program. A child may be tested at one or two years of age, or later if a child becomes a client after his or her second birthday. 
  • A lead risk assessment is required for school or daycare entrance for Jackson County residents.
  • To schedule a lead risk assessment, call Jackson County Health Department at (618) 684-3143 ext. 148. It will be determined if a blood lead test is necessary, and if so, an appointment will be scheduled through the WIC program.
