Request a Free Colorectal Screening Kit
Colorectal Cancer is preventable and highly curable when it is found early. JCHD offers a free, non-invasive at-home colorectal screening option to adults ages 45-75. FIT kits can be picked up in the front building during normal business hours.
To find out if the FIT screening is right for you or for more information, call 618-684-3143 ext. 150.
JCHD Now Offering Naloxone (Narcan®)
Jackson County Health Department is now offering free naloxone (Narcan®). Naloxone is a nasal spray that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
Anyone who takes a prescription or non-prescription opioid is potentially at risk of experiencing serious, sometimes fatal side effects. Consider keeping naloxone anywhere opioids may be present, including if you or a loved one take opioids regularly, show signs of opioid dependence, or in case of an accidental overdose. Most opioid emergencies happen at home and in front of a loved one. Having naloxone on hand and being ready to respond can make all the difference.
Free Narcan kits are available in both health department buildings during regular business hours, no appointment necessary. For more information, including training on how to use Narcan, contact jessicaf@jchdonline.org.
