Information for Community Members General Information Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Who should be tested for the H1N1 influenza virus? - Based on recommendations from the Illinois Department of Public Health, as of May 1, 2009, testing for H1N1 influenza should be conducted only on patients with severe illness, primarily those who have been hospitalized. If you have questions about your particular symptoms, contact your health care provider. Who can I call for non-medical questions? - People who have questions about H1N1 flu can call the Illinois Flu Hotline at 1-866-848-2094 (English Only). For Spanish, call 1-866-241-2138. The hotline currently operates from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
